Determine The Best Golf Ball
How To Match Your Balls To Your Game
Generally the type of player will determine the type of golf ball. Here is an overview to match your game with the best golf ball.
Novice - High Handicapper (100)
Fast swing speed: traditional 2-piece low spin golf ball. Slow swing: new 2-piece soft but long balls.
Balls described as "low spin", "low spin distance ball", "long and soft".
Intermediate - Mid Handicapper (80-90's)
Can hit straight or shots are predictable, look at a medium spin 2-piece or 3-piece ball. If your shots are erratic look at low spin 2-piece golf ball.
Low Handicapper (70-80)
Consistant swing and controlled shots around the green, look at 3-piece or 4-piece balls.
Once you have selected your golf ball type be sure to 'test' it completely and play it for at least 3 rounds of golf. This will help ensure you are testing all your range shots under different conditions to see how a ball performs.
